Pierre Travers Tauss has been involved in the marine industry since 1990 with the setting up of Strand Marine as importers of yachts, yachting equipment and accessories. His involvement was further expanded with the setting up, in 2006, of Esprit Yachting who are the exclusive representatives of Azimut, Benetti Yachts and Williams tenders. Born in 1958, and an engineer by profession, he ensures that his business offers the best possible customer care support.


Founder & CEO

With a background in Marketing and New Media, Niki has a passion for yachts which together with the already existing family interests in boating translated into the founding of Esprit Yachting in 2006. The company has since represented the world-leading yacht manufacturers – Azimut|Benetti Group, Nautor's Swan and Williams Performance Tenders.

Today Niki is the Managing Director of Esprit Yachting and runs a fully-fledged yacht support company offering Yacht Management, Charter Management and Maltese Flag yacht ownership structures.

Niki currently holds a position on the Board of the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yachting Services Section and is an external consultant for product development at Azimut Yachts.


Transport Malta Surveyor & Technical Consultant

As an external technical consultant Paul is the founder, Managing Director and Managing Surveyor at M.I.C.S based in Mata.

Since 2005, Paul has been primarily dedicated to Yacht related Professional Services and Surveys, as he drafted the Transport Malta Commercial Yacht Code and has been involved in coding of over 135 superyachts. Also he regularly consults Owners, performing pre-purchase surveys, conversion supervision and consultancy to various other Yacht Codes of Practice, including MCA LY2, MGN 280, the Marshall Islands Commercial Yacht Code, and The Cook Island Yacht Codes.

Paul, presently holds various external appointments including;
Flag State Inspector for the Liberia, and Bahamas Administrations;
Non-exclusive Surveyor to the Salvage Association; Appointed as Ship Surveyors by Transport Malta in terms of the Merchant Shipping Act; ABS Consulting – Inspector;  European Certification Bureau (ECB) Notified Body No. – Surveyor to the Recreational Craft Directive.

Paul has also been non-exclusive surveyor to Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, Bureau Veritas, American Bureau of Shipping, Lloyd’s Register of Shipping, and Det Norske Veritas. Also, Paul has held appointment as Flag State Inspector on behalf of the Panama Flag State Administration.

Alexandra has been in the yachting industry for the past ten years working actively in different roles and gaining substantial experience in the process.  Alexandra currently takes care of concierge services as well as the organisation of the various events the company hosts throughout the year. Alexandra also acts as Personal Assistant to the Director.  



Concierge & Brand Representative

Peter has sailed and been in contact with the sea and wind since a very tender age.

For a few years Peter coached Malta’s National Sailing Team. In the year 2001 Peter obtained International Judge Status, a position that he still currently holds.Through this and to date he officiated at around 250 events in 28 Nations, three of which were the prestigious Olympic Games. Peter’s involvement in the Olympic Games consisted of Coaching at the 2000 Games in Sydney, volunteering in the International Technical Officers’ department in Athens in 2004 and more recently formed part of the International Jury at the 2012 London Paralympic Games. Recently Peter became the founder member and chair of the Sail Coach Foundation.

Peter works for Valentino Brothers, a family owned and run concern that has since several decades imported timber and man made boards from world wide.

In 2013, Peter was honoured with the Midalja għall-Qadi tar-Repubblika (Medal for Service to the Republic) in recognition of his contribution towards the development of sailing in Malta

Legal Advisor

Clayton graduated as Doctor of Laws in 2009 and obtained his Masters degree in Financial Services in 2012 from the University of Malta. Following his admission to the Maltese Bar Association in 2010, Clayton started his legal career as a lawyer practicing predominantly in the commercial and financial services fields. He regularly advises a varied portfolio of clients ranging from multi-national corporate groups, financial institutions, trading and holding companies on matters relating to corporate structuring and restructuring, taxation, intellectual property and commercial strategy. Clayton specialises in superyacht law and regularly advises owners and prospective owners on the financing, acquisition and structuring of the ownership of their prized assets. His clients also include a number of leading shipyards, yacht managers, captains and crew members. Clayton regularly attends superyacht conferences, seminars and shows through which he has steadily garnered a wealth of knowledge and developed a broad network of key players in the yachting industry.
